Dear Judi Bowers:

Subject:
Grizzly article by Judi Bowers, July 16, 2008, It takes a village to change and Saint Joseph Pastor Mike’s challenge to Bring it on, regarding illegal immigration.

In the Grizzly article as in the Pastor’s challenge both want the community to get involved. I suspect involvement means agreeing with their preconceived ideas.

The Grizzly doesn’t want to assume that part of the safety problem in Big Bear is jobs given to illegal immigrants and outsiders. (Ski resorts employ 200 from Brazil each year) Pastor Mike appears to want us to think illegal immigration is a discrimination problem, not a legal problem. As a result the Church can promote the braking of US immigration laws and still the church should be able to maintain a tax-free status. Many illegal immigrants are Catholics and give to the church each Sunday and that tax-free money can be used to pressure our politicians and news media.

If the Catholic Church is systematically suggesting that their Pastors preach from the pulpit about supporting illegal immigrants then I want this letter to be used as a formal complaint. I want the Federal Government (Little Hoover Commission) to investigate if the Catholic Church is systematically preaching that supporting illegal immigrants is not illegal, but in fact we Catholics have an obligation to not discriminate against there illegal entrance into this country.

Sincerely,
Carl G. Mueller, Nam 68
